Dr. Hardy was born and raised on a farm in Lucan, Ontario. She received her Honors Bachelor of Science and her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 2007. Throughout her academic studies, she was recognized on the Dean’s Honors List and was awarded the William Feinbloom Low Vision Award in her final year.

Past experience includes a four-month externship at an ophthalmologic center in Birmingham, Alabama, specializing in diseases of the retina, glaucoma, pre- and post-operative cataract and refractive surgery and oculoplastics. She also completed clinical rotations in pediatrics, contact lens and binocular vision. She is an active member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO), Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO), and the past President of the Ottawa Society of Optometrists (OSO). She has traveled to Chile and Peru to provide eye care to the under-privileged. In her spare time, Dr. Hardy enjoys travel, the outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
