Lynn graduated from Algonquin College from the Medical Secretarial Program in 1973. She was married in 1973 and moved with her husband, Rolf, to Sudbury, where she worked for 5 1/2 years at Sudbury General Hospital in the Psychiatric Out-Patient Department. Lynn moved back to Ottawa in 1979 and took up residence in Barrhaven, where she and her husband still reside.
Lynn has been employed with Barrhaven Optometric Centre for over 26 years, where she considers the staff "her second family". She has seen many changes at Barrhaven Optometric Centre over the years, since she began her career in 1982 at which time Dr. Young was a solo practitioner. In the early years of her career everything was performed manually in the office. She has seen the practice evolve to the fully automated office it is today. Lynn considers herself a "multi-task" employee in the office, with her various duties including processing OHIP submissions and reconciliation reports, accounts receivable, frame selections, dispensing of spectacles upon completion, ordering of contact lenses and contact lens training.
Lynn's hobbies include her passion for gardening and spending enjoyable time with her grandchildren. She considers herself very fortunate that her two children and their families also reside in Barrhaven. To Lynn and her family, Barrhaven will always be "our home".
